In today's landscape where technological innovations are as articulated and rapidly changing as ever before, it is illusory to think that absolute control can be exercised over such a complex reality.

Medardo Chiapponi , Reggio Emilia, Italy. He has been a professor of Industrial Design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd, Environmental Design at the Polytechnic University of Turin, and Industrial Design at the Polytechnic University of Milan. Since 2001, he has been a Professor of Industrial Design at the Università luav di Venezia, where he served as Director of the Master's Program in Medical Design, Director of the Department of Arts and Industrial Design, Dean of the Faculty of Design and Arts, and Director of the Department of Design and Planning in Complex Media. He is President of the Italian Design Society. Founder and President of the Università luav di Venezia Cluster "MEDLAB" (Medical Design Laboratory on Service & Product Innovations). Member of the Scientific Committee of the Veneto Region's RIR "TECH4LIFE" (Innovative Network for Health Technologies).
