Description
Pombo explores the work and persona of the artist Marcelo Pombo: from his underground rebellion, through his obsessive and melancholic craftsmanship, to the hypnotic enamels of 2006. During the 1990s, his works were considered emblematic of an artistic movement that challenged political art and neo-conceptualism through a notion of beauty described as banal and decorative. Thus, amidst both criticism and praise, his works closed out the 20th century as the paradigm of a new way of producing and understanding art. This edition includes an in-depth interview that delves into the behind-the-scenes aspects of his artistic production, a series of critical and literary texts, and more than seventy reproductions of his work.
