Description
Guide to the exhibition Third Eye. Costantini Collection at Malba , presented at the museum from August 26, 2022 to September 1, 2023.
Third eye The exhibition brings together more than 220 iconic works of Latin American art in a journey that, for the first time, brings together the Malba Collection and that of its founder, Eduardo F. Costantini. Masterpieces from the museum's collection by artists such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Tarsila do Amaral, Xul Solar, Joaquín Torres García, Emilio Pettoruti, Wifredo Lam, Roberto Matta, Maria Martins, Remedios Varo, Antonio Berni, and Jorge de la Vega, among others, are on display alongside major acquisitions made by Costantini in recent years. Many of these pieces are being presented publicly on this occasion after remaining outside the international art circuit for several decades.
To accompany the exhibition, the museum is publishing a guide in two editions, Spanish and English, which reproduces all the exhibited works along with detailed descriptions of each piece. Featuring an introduction by Malba's founder and honorary president, Eduardo F. Costantini, and a curatorial essay by María Amalia García, the publication follows the exhibition's layout according to thematic sections, which explore the two main conceptual axes that organize it: inhabiting and transforming .
