Description

Published on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the founding of Malba, this guide constitutes a tour of the most outstanding works of its heritage up to the time of its publication.

The selection of reproduced works, by more than 200 artists, spans one hundred years of Latin American art, both modern and contemporary, according to the curatorial narrative of the museum's permanent collection by Marcelo Pacheco. The publication is organized chronologically and divided into conceptual and stylistic sections based on a historical periodization that allows readers to trace the evolution of art in the region from 1900 to the 1990s. A brief commentary or keywords accompany most of the sections, providing context that aids in understanding the works in the collection.

Conceived as a kind of portable manual to accompany and enrich the visitor's experience, in addition to the introductory texts to each section and the technical data sheets of the reproduced works, the volume contains a glossary of artistic terms and biographical notes of the artists included in the selection.
