Catalogue of the Teresa Burga exhibition. Structures of air , presented at Malba between July 24 and October 18, 2015.
Alongside the exhibition, MALBA published this special catalog of nearly 250 pages dedicated to Burga's experimental work from the late 1960s onward. It includes the curatorial essays: "Teresa Burga: Of Oblivion and Chance," by Agustín Pérez Rubio; "The Chronodisidences of Teresa Burga," by Miguel López; and the critical text "Generative Words and Subjugated Bodies in the 'Proposals' of Teresa Burga 1969-1971 ," by scholar Dorota Biczel. The catalog also features the text " Open Work or Formless Structure by Teresa Burga" (undated, ca. 1970-1980) and a previously unpublished 2011 interview with the artist: "The Closest Possible Thing to Chance ," also by López. In addition to reproductions of the works featured in the exhibition, the book brings together Burga's entire body of work on paper, focusing on her series of diagrams, structures, and reports.
