About Corn Ceramic
Mariana Zerman is a graphic designer who created the Maíz brand in 2018. She makes utilitarian ceramic pieces on a potter's wheel, prioritizing simple, lightweight forms that facilitate everyday use without losing their handcrafted character. In her line, most pieces can be used for different purposes. Color complements and stands out, creating a harmonious relationship with the morphology of each piece. Maíz creates patterns and textures from its color palette, which evolve with each application. She proposes that tableware that forms a set be diverse, with combinations that push the boundaries of what is meant by mismatched pieces. Currently, she works with stoneware clay, which is fired at medium to high temperatures, giving the objects greater durability.
