Description
For over a decade, Daniel Guebel and Luis Chitarroni taught and supervised a literary workshop—as it was called then—guiding the work of aspiring writers. After a few years, someone remarked that one represented dogma while the other embodied mysticism, though no one ever agreed afterward on which role belonged to whom. This "return" has a touch of nostalgia, though it is surely far more unsettling. Are they still revealing any dogma and mysticism?
This accidental canon proposes and discusses the tendencies—the ways in which one becomes oriented and disoriented within the chaos of reading. It is not an instruction manual but a collection of strategies, insights, illuminations, and postponements for aspiring to that rare, occasional paradise that literature provides for readers to enjoy and writers to write.
This book is part of the Notebooks Collection , an initiative of Malba Literatura to disseminate its rich archive of courses and seminars taught by leading academics and writers. The editing of each volume in this collection has allowed the authors to revisit the topics covered and add supplementary materials, striving to maintain the warmth and spontaneity of the lectures that inspired them.
Chaos, an exorbitant reading program, compiles the classes that Luis Chitarroni and Daniel Guebel taught at the Malba in 2021.
