Description
Catalogue of the exhibition David Lamelas. With a life of its own , presented at Malba between March 22 and June 11, 2018.
In conjunction with the exhibition "With a Life of Its Own ," the first solo exhibition of the Argentine artist David Lamelas (Buenos Aires, 1946), a pioneer of conceptual art and one of the leading figures of the Argentine art scene in the 1960s, Malba presents the Spanish edition of the catalogue co-published with the UAM, in collaboration with Getty Publications. This is the first comprehensive publication on Lamelas's work.
It includes essays by curators Kristina Newhouse: Time + Situation + People and María José Herrera: David Lamelas in Buenos Aires , and contributions from Valeria González, Inés Katzenstein, Daniel R. Quiles, Catha Paquette, and Joy Sleeman. It also features three interviews with the artist: A Nomadic Life by Alexander Alberro (Los Angeles, 2016); On the Road by Ian White (2006); and a conversation with Adolfo Bioy Casares, Germán Gullón, and Bartomeu Marí (Rotterdam, 1997).
