Description
The name Argentina itself sounds auspicious, as it derives from the Latin word argentum , meaning silver. Between the Atlantic coast to the east and the Andes Mountains to the west stretch the vast plains of the Pampas and Patagonia. Here, one can still experience the untamed romance of gaucho culture. The natural wonders of the breathtaking Iguazu Falls on the border with Brazil, and the whales and elephant seals near the Valdés Peninsula, offer unique experiences, as do the spectacular glacial landscapes of Patagonia and the Tierra del Fuego Lighthouse at the end of the world.
